Flea Control

Indoor and yard flea treatments to break the life cycle for good.

Fleas don't just bite pets — they bite people, and once a population is established indoors they can persist for months. Vector 1's flea program treats both the yard (where adults breed) and the home (where larvae develop in carpet and pet bedding), breaking the full life cycle.

Why Central Texas Homeowners Need This

95% of a flea population is in egg, larval and pupal stages hidden in carpet fibers, baseboards and yard soil. Killing adult fleas alone leaves the rest of the population ready to emerge in waves. Professional treatment uses both adulticides and insect growth regulators (IGRs) to stop development.

How It Works

1

Pre-Treatment Prep

We send a prep checklist — vacuum, wash bedding, prep yard. Prep work dramatically improves results.

2

Indoor Treatment

Adulticide plus IGR applied to carpet, baseboards, pet rest areas and hard floors where larvae develop.

3

Yard Treatment

Targeted treatment of shaded areas, under decks and along fence lines where outdoor fleas concentrate.

4

Follow-Up

A follow-up visit 14–21 days later catches newly emerged adults from the pupal stage and breaks the cycle for good.

Pricing Factors & What to Expect

Flea treatment is priced per home based on interior square footage and yard size. Most flea jobs include an initial treatment plus one follow-up visit — both are factored into the service price. Call (512) 652-6300.

Service Duration: Initial treatment is typically 60–90 minutes. Activity drops sharply within 7–14 days; follow-up at 2–3 weeks closes the cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

How did fleas get into my house if I treat my pet?

Fleas hitchhike on wildlife (squirrels, possums, stray cats), drop eggs in your yard, and your pet picks them up. Even treated pets can carry adults inside before the on-pet treatment kills them.

Do I need to be out of the house?

Just for a few hours while treated surfaces dry. We provide specific re-entry timing at service.

Will one treatment be enough?

Usually two — initial plus a follow-up at 14–21 days — because of the pupal stage's resistance to insecticide. After the follow-up, fleas are gone.
